About Datox
No one builds a business hoping to spend hours dealing with regulatory reporting. But for investment firms and financial institutions, compliance is not optional – it’s essential.
Yet, most reporting tools still feel like outdated spreadsheets wrapped in dashboards. They’re slow, brittle, and disconnected from the real-world complexity that businesses face today. Teams are left juggling formats, tracking requirements across jurisdictions, and hoping they didn’t miss a critical detail that could lead to fines or delays.
At Datox, we’re on a mission to change that. We help businesses simplify and automate their regulatory reporting – across the UK, EU, and beyond – with a platform powered by AI, built for collaboration, and designed for humans.
We’re a growing, VC-backed team of designers, engineers, product thinkers, and domain experts driven by one belief: that regulatory work shouldn’t feel like punishment. With the right tools, it can be streamlined, intuitive, and even empowering.
Join us as we build the future of regulatory reporting.
The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Developer to own and evolve Datox’s web experience end-to-end — from data-dense workflows and powerful editors to realtime collaboration and AI-assisted UX. You’ll partner closely with product, design, and backend to ship elegant, accessible, and high-performance interfaces that make complex reporting feel simple.
Location: London (hybrid)
Type: Full-time
Level: Senior (tech lead path available)
What You’ll Do
-
Build complex product surfaces: Craft data-heavy UIs (tables, schema mappers, validators, diff views, audit trails) with superb performance and UX polish.
-
Own the frontend architecture: Drive component design systems, state management, routing, and performance budgets; keep the codebase healthy and fast.
-
Ship AI-assisted workflows: Design UX for AI copilots/agentic actions (explain, transform, validate), with safeguards and human-in-the-loop controls.
-
Integrate deeply with APIs: Work with REST/GraphQL/WebSockets; shape contracts with backend to keep interfaces resilient and observable.
-
Raise the quality bar: Add thoughtful tests (unit/e2e), accessibility, internationalisation, and error states; lead design-dev reviews and PR standards.
-
Instrument & iterate: Set up analytics and UX telemetry; run experiments and continuously improve task completion time and user satisfaction.
-
Mentor & lead: Coach engineers, refine code reviews, and help guide roadmap and discovery with PM/Design.
Bonus Points
- Experience working in fintech, regtech, or data-heavy platforms.
- Familiarity with European or UK regulatory frameworks (FCA, ESMA, etc.)
- Previous experience with AI/ML-powered products.
- Comfort with design systems (tokens, theming, Storybook docs) and cross-team adoption.
- Performance expertise (React profiling, code-splitting, server components, memoisation).
