About Datox
No one builds a business hoping to spend hours dealing with regulatory reporting. But for investment firms and financial institutions, compliance is not optional. It is essential.
Yet, most reporting tools still feel like outdated spreadsheets wrapped in dashboards. They are slow, brittle, and disconnected from the real-world complexity that regulated businesses face today. Teams are left juggling formats, interpreting changing requirements, reconciling data across multiple systems, and hoping they have not missed a critical detail that could lead to rejected submissions, regulatory scrutiny, or reputational risk.
At Datox, we are on a mission to change that. We help investment and asset management firms simplify and automate their regulatory reporting across the UK, EU, and beyond, using a platform powered by AI, built for collaboration, and designed for humans.
We are a growing, venture-backed team of designers, engineers, product thinkers, and domain experts driven by one belief: regulatory work should not feel like punishment. With the right tools, it can be streamlined, intuitive, and empowering.
Join us as we build the future of regulatory reporting.
The Role
We are seeking a PRIIPs KID Regulatory Reporting Specialist to help us design and build the next generation of investor disclosure technology.
You will bring deep subject-matter expertise in PRIIPs Key Information Documents, from the underlying risk, performance and cost calculations to the narrative content and document lifecycle. You will work closely with our product, engineering, data, and commercial teams to translate the PRIIPs Regulation, its regulatory technical standards and supervisory guidance into clear calculation logic, data specifications, validation rules, workflows, and user experiences.
This is not a traditional compliance advisory role. You will play a central part in shaping a live technology product, helping us understand how KIDs are produced in practice, where existing processes break down, and how Datox can make them significantly more accurate, efficient, and scalable across large document estates.
Success in this role means helping Datox build a credible, production-ready PRIIPs KID solution that asset managers, fund administrators and product manufacturers can trust.
This is a contract role, initially focused on getting our PRIIPs KID solution to production readiness, with scope to extend as the product grows. Candidates who combine regulatory expertise with a quantitative background will be able to shape not only what the product does, but how its calculations are built and validated.
What You’ll Do
- Act as Datox’s subject-matter expert for UK and EU PRIIPs KID requirements across funds and other packaged products
- Translate regulatory requirements into clear functional specifications, data models, field definitions, validation rules, and calculation logic
- Define and validate calculation methodologies for the Summary Risk Indicator, including market risk and credit risk measures, across PRIIP categories
- Specify performance scenario logic, including favourable, moderate, unfavourable and stress scenarios, recommended holding periods, and approaches for products with limited price history
- Define cost disclosure logic, including entry, exit, ongoing, transaction, and incidental costs such as performance fees and carried interest
- Build or review independent calculation prototypes, for example in Python or Excel, to benchmark and stress-test Datox’s outputs
- Help design approaches for alternative and illiquid funds, including private equity, private debt and real assets, where standard listed-fund methods fall short
- Define the end-to-end KID workflow, from source-data ingestion and enrichment through calculation, validation, exception management, review, approval, and document generation
- Map required inputs to common source systems, fund administrators, accounting platforms, market-data providers, and industry templates such as the European PRIIPs Template
- Identify data-quality risks, edge cases, and scenarios that commonly lead to inaccurate or misleading KIDs
- Review regulatory technical standards, ESA Q&As, supervisory statements, and relevant regulatory updates, including divergence between UK and EU regimes
- Create detailed test cases and expected outcomes for product validation, and help reconcile Datox outputs against independent calculations
- Review generated KIDs and product outputs to assess their regulatory accuracy and production readiness
- Work closely with engineers to clarify requirements, resolve interpretation questions, and test implemented functionality
- Support client discovery sessions to understand current KID production processes, systems, pain points, and operating models
- Help develop product documentation, methodology papers, implementation guidance, training materials, and credible client-facing content
- Contribute to product demonstrations and technical conversations with prospective clients, partners, and industry stakeholders
- Bring practical market insight into the product roadmap, including review and revision triggers, recurring update cycles, and opportunities for automation
You’re a fit if you have
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience producing, calculating, or reviewing PRIIPs KIDs
- Strong knowledge of the PRIIPs Regulation and its regulatory technical standards, and of the data needed to produce complete and accurate KIDs
- Practical experience within an asset manager, fund administrator, insurer, bank, KID production provider, consultancy, or similar environment
- A working understanding of the SRI, performance scenario, and cost methodologies, and the judgement to know when a result is technically correct but misleading
- Experience investigating data-quality issues, calculation discrepancies, or KID errors
- The ability to interpret regulatory requirements and convert them into clear, structured, and testable business logic
- Strong attention to detail and the judgement to distinguish between technically valid outputs and genuinely accurate regulatory disclosure
- Confidence working with product managers, software engineers, data specialists, risk and compliance teams, and senior business stakeholders
- Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain complex disclosure concepts in plain English
- A practical, problem-solving mindset and a genuine interest in improving how investor disclosure is produced
Bonus Points
- A strong quantitative background in risk, actuarial science, or financial engineering, particularly hands-on work on SRI, VaR-equivalent volatility, bootstrapped performance scenarios, or reduction in yield calculations
- Experience building or validating PRIIPs calculation models, including documenting methodology for auditors, regulators, or clients
- Experience with both UK and EU PRIIPs requirements, including the UK’s move towards the Consumer Composite Investments regime
- Experience producing KIDs for AIFs, ELTIFs, private equity, private debt, or other illiquid products
- Experience with the UCITS KIID to PRIIPs KID transition
- Familiarity with the European PRIIPs Template, European MiFID Template, or European ESG Template
- Experience with transaction cost methodologies, including arrival price and alternative approaches
- Experience with Python, SQL, data mapping, or large fund datasets
- Familiarity with adjacent regimes such as AIFMD Annex IV, SFDR, or MiFID II costs and charges disclosure
- Experience working in a startup, scale-up, or product-led technology environment
